SICC

SICC is turning out to be a big event after all! Just got news this morning on the other countries coming down.There's malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and kazakhstan coming. Uzebek and kazakhstan are REALLY strong teams in Asia!!!!! Looks like it's gonna be hard fighting.
Going for a k2 500m and a K1 500m and I really wonder how I'll fair this time in k1 due to lack of rowing in it. First big race of the year and hopefully I'll debut with a bang!

Got today off from school. The annual "ACS (I) start school late after CNY" holiday. Trained in morning and afternoon. Went down early in the afternoon hoping to leave early but yeah coach had other ideas. Made me and jori rearrange all the paddles in the shed before letting us go down to water. Had the weirdest afternoon training yet. warm up in k2 with a warm up programme then change to k1 and 4 stroke/bouy 500 sets.

My mind's pretty distracted the past few days. Something is wrong with me. Need to bang my head on the wall afew times to refocus. Listening to too much rubbish talk already. Let me stay focused just alittle bit more.

Took some pimped up bus home. looked like a normal 162 from the outside but inside is wooooahhh... bus too shaky cant take pics properly though.

K2 timetrial training.

Had yet another k2 day. Paired with ryan 2 sets 250m sprints, 1 with jori and then 2 more in k4 nelo with jori,zhi hao, clarence and weili swapping places. The set with jori went really well, but there's alot of improvement necessary if regional medals are to flow in. The k4 also felt pretty good today.

I'm stuck as the front man for the team boats but i'm starting to get the feel of my role after doing front for the past months. I used to hate it alot but now i feel good in it. K4 nelo was unusually stable today. Last time i tried it i nearly died of trauma. The high back seat and a good config made the difference today. The crew was also moving pretty well together but there's alot to improve on if we're to hit that 133 and below regularly for the 500m.

Then there's the possibility of SEA games in k2 with jori. He has his NS to attend and me my diploma exams. It's gonna be real tough if we are to fight for a spot but its possible if we try really hard to keep training through that tough period. I don't want to miss a SEA games. It's the first step to the highest peaks of competitive paddling which i'm aspiring for. I want to go actually...but the odds are being stacked against me.

How? Time reveal its secrets slowly...

k2

Had a fantastic day in K2 today. Somehow it just feels so right. It's been so long since i rowed K2 already. I've been trying to get the feel back in the Nelo the whole week and I think it's back! Switching boats too often isn't a good think after all...

Partnered with jori and then later with zhi hao in the k2. Both went really well. Each had their own good points. Tomorrow will be the K2 trials and the pairings for SICC will be decided, and hopefully can make it into the team this time. SICC might not have the overseas people coming anyway, but we'll take it that they are.

Super uber seniors are coming back also. Vin, sam wong, wee jin... The senior team is gonna be so competitive if they return to full form. I would love to see the team become so strong and we can push even further. The team is coming of age...
